What is a fireproof cabinet?
Fire-resistant cabinets protect flammable materials – and therefore people and property – from the risk of fire or abnormally high heat sources. Protection against flames is ensured by the cabinet’s containment, notably through the automatic closing of doors on many models, the presence of heat-expanding seals, or the inclusion of fire dampers at the air intake and exhaust vents (standard EN14470-1). Some models are fitted with an automatic extinguishing system inside to extinguish or prevent the outbreak of a fire within the cabinet itself.
